Breckenridge Colorado
Breckenridge, Colorado is a mountain community at an elevation of 9,600 ft.   The historic town offers luxury Breckenridge homes and Breckenridge real estate with a lifestyle far away from the stress of the big cities.  Established 147 years ago when the lure of gold and quick riches brought the first settlers to this high mountain valley, the Town of Breckenridge was founded in 1859 as a mining camp along the banks of the Blue River.  Breckenridge real estate has experienced a rich history of boom and bust, with mining that finally ended in the 1940s leaving the area to 20 years of hard times.  That all changed dramatically, however, when the opening of the Eisenhower Tunnel ushered in tourists to the exciting mountain ski resorts.

This quaint Victorian town in the heart of the Colorado Rockies is now one of the nation’s premier year-round resorts.  Owning a home in Breckenridge offers residents an incredible selection of activities.  Whether you desire fresh air and sunshine, playing hard and breaking sweat, or the pursuit of fine art, music, and a scrumptious meal, this historic mining town offers it all.

The Breckenridge Ski Resort offers a lot for everyone.  From the challenging terrain of the Lake Chutes, to the gentle rollers of Peak 7, the resort is full of smiling skiers on every level.  It has become world renowned for its amazing terrain parks and has been dubbed, “the snowboarding capital of the world.”  Four professionally designed parks are filled with huge kickers, jibbing features, and several world-class half pipes.  On any given day, famous athletes can be seen honing their skills for the many freestyle events that are hosted here.

The Ski Resort is spread out on the spine of the Ten Mile Range, claiming peaks 7 through 10.  The Ten Mile range stretches from Hoosier Pass to Frisco (south to north) and contains ten miles of beautiful snow-capped peaks.  The rugged and beautiful landscape of this area envelops some of North America’s highest peaks.
