Keystone
Experience 4th of July in Summit County Colorado
By The Walsh Group

If you think ahead and purchase your real estate in Keystone, Colorado or Breckenridge before the summer season hits, your friends and family will love to visit your new Summit County home during the Fourth of July festivities.  There is nothing like being able to celebrate Independence Day in the small Rocky Mountain town such as Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco, Silverthorne, or any of the surrounding Colorado Rocky Mountain resorts like Keystone.

Picking up vacation Keystone CO real estate in the spring when there are some real deals, you will be set to gather the clam to celebrate the Nation's Birthday where they can relish the spectacular summer weather.  Super activities are in store throughout Summit County each summer during the entire week of July 4th.  Here’s a preview:

Start the week off at the Keystone Resort at the Frontier Days Fair.  Kids of all ages will have fun panning for gold.  There are train rides, crafts, games, and a magic show for the younger ones.  Adults will enjoy browsing among the local artisans, too.  Some of your guest will want to check out the Rocky Mountain G3 Gravity Series at the Keystone Bike Park where downhill races and a Super D are on the schedule.  Others will want to enjoy a great night of comedy featuring a “show time comic of the month” like Louis Johnson.

Everyone can pick up a shuttle heading over to the World Market in Breck—where vendors from around the world set up shop and live music adds to the festive atmosphere.  Then, look for an evening of Music from the Mountains at the Riverwalk Center or a performance of the National Repertory Orchestra at the Pavilion near your new home.

The schedule is jammed packed with activities on Independence Day beginning with a 10K trail race and the "Firecracker 50" bike race kicks off Breck’s Main Street parade.  There’s an Annual Fishing Derby in the Keystone Lake and the Annual Bike Parade at River Run Village that begins with a bike decoration party at 10 a.m.  Lots of music and fun fill the day at both resorts, with evening concerts followed by traditionally impressive fireworks.

Follow up the Fourth with a funny performance by the Keystone Neighborhood Company and the Lake Dillon Theatre Company.
In between all the fireworks and concerts, there are still the wonderful summer mountain activities that include hiking, mountain and paved path biking, boating, golfing, great shopping, as well as, the Peak 8 Fun Park (featuring the Alpine Slide) that attract visitors from all parts of the country and world. Join the fun!
