Peanut Butter & Rail Jam at Keystone A51 Park
By The Walsh Group
If your family gravitates toward evermore snowboard activities, pick up a vacation home in Summit County, Colorado's Keystone CO real estate. Transworld Snowboarding ranked Keystone’s A51 Terrain Park as one of its Top 10 Parks. Competition will come right to the resort during the amateur Volcom Peanut Butter and Rail Jam held at the end of the season. By then, you can be settled into your new and convenient Keystone condominium at River Run, Mountain House, or Keystone's Lakeside Village.
Your Keystone real estate will be a huge boost for your friends and family. Keystone Resort is home to three magnificent mountains--Dercum Mountain, North Peak, and The Outback--that get better every year. Recently, Keystone Resort added 300 acres of steeper terrain and more than 3,000 acres of guided snowcat skiing over legendary bumps, five bowls, and smooth groomers. Everyone in your family will find special places to swoosh through the snow.
The A51 terrain park keeps getting better, too. This year, the resort added 30 new slayable rails of varying difficulty and six wall rides. To facilitate more laps through the park, the resort moved the pipe. The beginner terrain at the Incubator keeps improving and more night skiing space opened up.
The Peanut Butter and Rail Jam is Volcom’s free amateur snowboard contest series with a fresh format using a single, large rail zone. It is free to compete and winners will reap oodles of free prizes along with free peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Contestants also receive a Volcom PBRJ shirt plus other goodies. Participants can register online the morning of the contest in Divisions 15 and under, 16 and over, Girls, and Open/Pro-Am. The awards ceremony begins at 3:30 pm.
At the same time, Freeskier Magazine plans to host its park-and-pipe ski test and Snowboarder magazine will host hundreds of the top professional snowboarders in the world for SuperPark 11 in the A51 Park.
Introduce your kids to the new website for A51. By pointing and clicking, skiers and riders can view the entire park and learn about wall rides, rails, two halfpipes, and more than 65 jumps. The site’s pictures and video gallery puts you right in the middle of A51.
During March, the resort is also launching a new grassroots series of weekly sessions at A51. Held Thursday evenings at dusk, the “Sundown Showdown” offers locals the chance to do their thing.
