Touring on horseback in the spring, the sparkling white slopes and valleys of Keystone, Colorado real estate melt into stands of purple, yellow, white, and blue wildflowers blowing in the breezes on the hillsides.  Let the horse lead the way while you enter into the wonder of another world, your next world.  As an owner of spectacular real estate in Keystone, Colorado as a second home or vacation home, eventually you’ll figure out a way to be able to live in the Rocky Mountain Keystone home fulltime.

Your family will love the equestrian options near Keystone CO real estate’s seven distinctive neighborhoods, each with its own flair.  Discover the benefits of owning a home in Keystone Ranch, East Keystone, Mountain House, Keystone Village, River Run, Mountain View, or West Keystone.   There are special places along the Snake River, and around rural Summit County real estate you can find wooded cabins and ranch homes that will offer you a real Colorado cowboy experience.  The Walsh Group will show you great places for horses between the neighboring communities of Breckenridge real estate to Frisco real estate or in the very sparsely populated rural areas around Montezuma.

From handy stables to a healthy 4-H population, every horse lover will find a niche.  Opt for short rides, full-day rides, sleigh rides, dinner rides, or ride your own Black Beauty up the challenging trails on the facing mountain that lead to summit heights and miles of extraordinary views.

With National Forests surrounding the town, the horse trails are unrivaled.  Take the Miners Creek Trail (8 miles) through the Arapaho National Forest, the Gore Range Trail (3 miles) or the Two Elk Trail (9 miles) through the White River National Forest.  Ride out to places there the mountains reach the sky along the Ten Mile Range and witness purple mountain majesty first hand.

The Annual Summit County 4-H Horse Show is a wonderful place for children and youth ages 5 through 18 to demonstrate horsemanship and the skills that they have gleaned over the previous year.  Besides learning to care for horses, learning fundraising skills, and performing community service, the children and youth learn how to set and achieve goals while working with their horses.  The horse show is also a wonderful part of the Mountain Community Fair where folks come out to appreciate the down-home qualities of life in smaller rural communities.

For now, you may prefer to have someone else tend the horses or to hire an outfitter when you get a yen to explore the Continental Divide and other breathtaking areas.  Several companies will oblige.  Breckenridge Stables, Mega Mountain Magic, Platte Ranch Riding Stables, Rusty Spurr Ranch and others will pack you out, pause while you capture the grandeur on film, tell you intriguing stories about life here a hundred years ago, and even set up camp for tomorrow’s encore.
