Breckenridge real estate owners are set to have the best seat in the house in the town's annual Breckenridge Film Festival in June.  The Film Festival is one of several summer festivals that enliven the streets of this quaint mountain ski town.   Breckenridge vacation property owners and prospective buyers of Breckenridge homes flock to the Summit County, Colorado location for the popular festivals.

The Breckenridge File Festival usually begins with a premiere and party on Thursday and runs all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the last premiere on Sunday at 5 p.m.  If anyone wants a seat, it is highly recommended to purchase tickets for the Breckenridge Film Festival before June 1st.

Buying early also comes with savings.  PEAK TEN passes allow entry to all films and events.  The early purchase price is $175 to $199.  PEAK NINE passes, for entry to only films during the three-and-a-half day festival, go from $125 to $149.  Save $6 on Four Punch Passes (no early discount) or pay $10 each for entry to individual movies.  But remember, Pass Holders always get priority seating for each of the eight venues throughout town.

Presenting a selection of both Premiere and Independent Films, past Festivals have had such highly acclaimed films as Babel (2006), and An Unfinished Life and Just Like Heaven (2005).  But like any film festival, the parties and panels are the icing on the cake.  In addition to Opening and Wrap (closing) Parties, you can also enjoy the Industry Inside Party, the Independent Filmmakers Party.  Mid-day Saturday is a panel discussion where agents and industry insiders give out tips on breaking into the film business.  Motherload Tavern will host a Martini and Music Bash on Saturday evening.

A change from its September date in previous years, this is the first time that the Breck Film Festival will be held in June.  Citing the saturation of the fall season with other film festivals, not only in Colorado, but nationally and internationally, Festival President Karen Penegor explained that spring will be a better time for filmmakers to present their work and for fans to attend.

"June is equally well-suited to the casual and interactive atmosphere that has made the Breckenridge Film Festival special.  The Festival has always been enhanced by its beautiful mountain environment and June will provide as perfect a setting for the event as September always has," Penegor said.

Futhermore, Penegor emphasized that the new dates do not mean a change in the Festival's fundamental goals.  "We are pleased there are no red carpets, no velvet ropes at Breckenridge...and that tradition will continue," she said.
